Facebook is becoming a tougher place to get engagement and interaction from fans. It used to be that a good picture and a couple of questions would be enough to score you a few enquiries, but not any more.
Nope, those days are long gone.
Nowadays, Facebook – and all social media – is a crowded space where you need to work hard to earn people’s attention.
That isn’t a bad thing, but it does change the landscape rather.
So what tricks can you use to get your fans to like, comment on, and share your post? Satirical website The Poke went for a blindingly obvious way today, that made me smile, but also highlighted the desperate measures companies resort to these days. It fitted in perfectly with their ethos and corporate voice, and poked fun at both posters and readers of Facebook content.
So what did they share?
And do you know how much engagement they have got at the time of writing?
Not so silly when you look at those stats, right?
I am not suggesting that you do the exact same thing, but there is certainly a lesson here. Appeal to your fans’ sense of humour, and you will go a long way to building better relationships.
And better relationships are the starting point for more enquiries….
