Do you love what you do? Do you wake up each morning and think “yes!”, or do you have to peel yourself off your sheets and have ten cups of coffee before you can bring yourself to put finger to keyboard?
This isn’t about whether or not you are a morning person; this is about your passion.
You see, if you’re not passionate about your business then your customers will be able to see this. Even a glossy exterior won’t hide the truth inside. If you aren’t happy or passionate, or are bored with your business, your customers will be able to tell.
Imagine I hate what I do (I don’t, obviously, but this is a bit of role play). My work is going to suck because I will be just trying to get through it so I can tick off that box on my to do list. Putting out that kind of tired, weary, dreary attitude will kill your business dead in the water, because people buy people and if you’re miserable, no one will be drawn to you.
Now imagine I love what I do (not a huge leap of faith there). You will be able to tell that from the content I share. The passion and enthusiasm I feel will come across in the content I put out there. No dirge, but more “hello! How are you? How’s your day? Tell me about you!”. See, loads more engaging and giving people the opportunity to respond and start a conversation.
Your passion will be the starting point of your relationships online, and offline, and that’s when the magic will start to happen.
So if you hate what you do, stop doing it, and more importantly, don’t let a single drop of your misery or negativity seep into your contact with the outside world, especially not through your social media content!
